Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Describe the clinical pathway by which parenting a neurodivergent child leads adults to recognize their own undiagnosed ADHD or autism
  • Explain the concept of AuDHD (co-occurring autism and ADHD) and how it presents differently than either diagnosis alone
  • Identify masking behaviors that have allowed high-functioning adults to remain undiagnosed into adulthood
  • Recognize parental burnout as a diagnostic signal, not simply a lifestyle issue
  • Support clients navigating grief, self-doubt, and identity disruption following late-life neurodivergence discovery
  • Apply trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming language when working with this population
